After Red Tails, George Lucas kept saying that he was going to be retiring from big budget filmmaking to focus on smaller, more personal films, and now it’s official— Lucas is stepping from the day-to-day operations of Lucasfilm and will be succeeded by producer and long-time Lucas collaborator Kathleen Kennedy.
